How I Lost 17 Unwanted Pounds

Hello Weight Loss prospects. This is how I lost 17 unwanted pounds.

I began to look at myself a year ago and wondered if I was gaining weight so I decided to get on the scale and check my weight. So I did. To my surprise I was shockingly 210 lbs. Maybe it was from all of the potato chips, cookies and ice cream I devoured as I relaxed on the couch. I had no idea how I lost the momentum to say no to snacks. We all know what that's like right? Well if you don't pay attention to how much of it you eat it will catch up to you faster than you think. It progressively grows and before you know it you are in deep trouble with your weight. Then comes other health issues. So I'm going to tell you How I lost 17 Unwanted Pounds.

I can remember it was Christmas time and all I could think about was getting my hands on some scrumptious holiday cookies. Everybody know's someone that makes holiday cookies and we all want some. I would get some from a co-worker, a neighbor, and a family member. That's because everyone know's I Love cookies. But respectfully passed on them. I lost interest in them and then I thought to myself "Maybe I should skip them indefinitely" and eat something that's better for my body. So I did.

For the first time, I felt something inside me that was positive about eating healthier foods. Although I wanted to taste just 1 cookie, I passed on the idea. Instead I went to the refrigerator and pulled out some celery and munched on those to cure the need for a cookie. Oh how bland and boring they were, but I said to myself "This Is Gotta Be The Way" or forget the whole idea. I didn't eat a huge amount of them, just enough to keep me from feeling hungry at that time.

So I decided to put them in my lunch everyday for 3 months. Now you might be wondering what else am I'm eating for lunch right? Well I had a plan in place for that also. I decided to have soup for lunch 3 of the 5 days out of the week. So far that's about 2 oz of celery and a can of soup. Then I decided that I am going to need a piece of fruit too, so I added that into my lunch. Now I know you are wondering "what do I eat for breakfast" but I already had that in the bag. I have a bowl of oatmeal because it cuts down on your cholesterol, with a cup of juice and my daily vitamins. So breakfast was a no brainer. I just needed to focus on the rest of the day.

Now that I have the 3 items in my lunch I thought that I might be too hungry to wait for lunch so I added a hard boiled egg and some yogurt and a handful of nutritious nuts to eat on my break which was exactly 3 hours after I ate breakfast. So I started to eat only those items for 3 months for the first part of my day. The other 2 days I didn't have soup, I incorporated a chicken sandwich for added protein or a leftover from dinner. Remember that it's all about portion control!

After I had consumed about 900 calories for the first part of my day I need to have a good dinner so that I could consume my needed amount of calories for the day which was 2300. At this point I had another 1400 calories to go for the day. I thought it would be a no brainer. Yea, right! not too easy considering I wanted to eat a healthy dinner too. So I decided that dinner would be a salad with chicken, beef or salmon. Well I decided that I would have all of them 3 days a week, separately of course. So I did. By now you must think I'm crazy to do something like this out of the ordinary.

The other 4 dinners of the week consisted of something I knew would be healthy so I just improvised as the days came. After trying this method for a month It got me nowhere. So I thought to myself it's time to get in shape while I try to lose the 10 lbs I originally planned on losing. I decided to do a cardio workout for 3 days a week. So I did. I stuck with it because I was determined to loose the unwanted 17 pounds.

Days have gone by and I've gotten zero results after sticking to my plan and incorporating my exercise routine until one morning I weighed myself and discovered that I had taken off 2 pounds. Oh how excited I was to know that! With those results I felt the urge to keep at it. So I continued to eat my selected items for breakfast, morning snack, and lunch with a good healthy dinner. Then I discovered that I didn't consume the correct amount of calories for my daily consumption. I was 400 calories under. I stuck with it and continued with my plan. I ate at the correct times and exercised when I got out of work by doing a cardio workout for 50 minutes. I really broke a sweat as I had to peel of my clothes to shower. When I was done with my workout I had burned 847 -890 calories. WOW! That was nearly everything I had consumed for breakfast, morning snack, and lunch. So I kept at it.

3 months later I had lost 12 pounds! I continue to use this tactic, and lost an additional 5 pounds for a total of 17 pounds lost. 5 months later I have maintained the 17 unwanted pounds by eating healthier and continuing to exercise 3 times a week. I used an assortment of cardio DVD's throughout my routine and I feel great! I lost a slight back pain and I have more energy than the sun! I believe if you need to loose the extra pounds, YOU should try it too. Keep in mind that I had a goal and I made that goal with dedication. I was in no rush, I wanted success. Highly recommended!!!

The Great 8 Healthy Eating Tips

Low Carb, Low Fat, More protein, Eat all the fat you want..... These are the many things we hear as we are bombarded with the latest and NOT always the greatest diet and eating tips when trying to find the Silver Bullet for permanent weight loss.

Well I thought that we would talk about common sense proven tips that will ensure that along with a solid fitness program, will help support your fitness and health goals for life.

Eating Tip 1

Eat Slow- If you read about the French Paradox, which discusses why the French eat a lot of fatty foods, but are a leaner society than that of the United States. They take their meals very seriously and it is one of the most important times of the day. You will get multiple benefits from this tip. Eating Slow will help your body absorb the food at the right level allowing you to fill up much quicker as it will not provide a tendency for you to OVEREAT!!! The other awesome benefit is that you can spend more time with your family so that you can share the important things in life with each other!!!

Eating Tip 2

Eat 5-6 times per day. Do not allow your blood sugar levels to drop, in between meals. By eating more often and eating the right types of foods that are on the low end of the glycemic index, you can keep your blood sugar levels more even throughout the day, and ensure that you are not getting those mid-afternoon yawns and also help keep the excess weight off. Remember that when you spike your blood sugar by eating simple sugars and refined carbohydrates, this will potentially cause your body to store fat!!!

Eating Tip 3

Eat Your Breakfast... I was bad at this many years ago, but I learned to fuel up early in the day. Eating a good solid breakfast to start your day helps supply you with the fuel you need to get started, especially if you are incorporating a early morning fitness program in to your day. You need the fuel to get your engine going in the morning. Do not starve your body early, because you may have the tendency to binge eat later, because your body gets into the craving mode. Feed your body early!!

Eating Tip 4

Slow down as the sun goes down. What do I mean by this? Well just as important as it is to eat a great breakfast to start the day, it is also as equally important to reduce your food consumption as the day goes on. So plan to eat a good solid breakfast, a good lunch, and reduce your meal portions at dinner time. Remember as you get closer to bedtime your body starts to wind down and you will not have the same opportunity at night to burn those consumed meal calories as you did earlier in the day. So eat more early and back down as you reach sun down.

Eating Tip 5

Give yourself 3 hours!!! Yes 3 hours before going to bed. Do not consume anymore calories. As I mentioned before, your body starts to slow down as the day goes on and gets ready for sleep. You do not want to consume a lot of calories right before you go to bed, because you will end of potentially storing those calories as FAT!!! Your body sometimes give you a false sense of being hungry as you bedtime nears. You get those 9pm cravings... And a lot of people end up hitting the Refrigerator and over-consuming right before bed time... Not good for managing your weight and body fat %. If you just can't resist the munchies, then what I do is eat a few high good fat nuts. Like unsalted Almonds skin-on (good for fiber) or a couple spoonfuls of no sugar added all natural peanut butter. Eating a good quality fat food will satisfy your craving and will keep you from binging on something with lots of bad carbohydrates or simple sugars, like ice cream, cake or cookies.

Eating Tip 6

Stay focused on eating green in every meal. Always incorporate a good high quality low glycemic index dark green vegetable with each meal. I suggest things like spinach or romaine lettuce in your lunch time salads. Eating broccoli, asparagus, or steamed spinach as your vegetable at dinner time. All of these dark green vegetables supply your body with great vitamins and nutrients as well as being great sources of fiber and are naturally low on the glycemic index scale and will keep your blood sugar levels from spiking after eating. So think Dark green at meal time and challenge yourself to keep it as part of each and every eating event.

Eating Tip 7

Blend your foods.. Blending your foods means making sure that if you are eating a food item that does contain carbohydrates make sure that you incorporate a good low fat protein along with it. Eating a low carb tortilla wrap where the first ingredient is whole wheat flour that is unrefined. Add lean chicken breast as part of your filling in the wrap, maybe with some thinly shredded romaine lettuce and other veggies.

Eating Tip 8

Use splenda as your sweetener of choice, when looking for a simple sugar replacement. I have tried many sugar subs over the years an no other product has the taste of sugar like splenda does. Not equal and surely not sweet and low. Splenda is outstanding for sprinkling on low glycemic fresh fruit like blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, and I also use it to sweeten my drink of choice. Caffeine Free Green Tea that I infuse with cinnamon stick and whole cloves. What a refreshing cold beverage that keeps the caffeine out of your diet, provides you a great antioxidant and does not spike your blood sugar levels by using the no calorie sweetner in splenda.

So I hope you enjoy my GREAT 8!!!

These eating tips will help keep you on the right track, when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle.. All of these tips are the tools that I live by every day....

How To Get Lean, Sexy And Toned Thighs With These 4 Boot Camp Nutritional Tips

If you are determined to lose weight and start living healthier - becoming a member of a fitness boot camp is a great starting point. A good boot camp offers you a wide range of different outdoor workout sessions, and a good fitness regime, while at the same time helping you eat healthier and lose weight quick and easy. Boot camps often have a doctor and nutritionist recommendations for them and this team will give you a list of things you should eat and a list of groceries you should avoid. If you are determined to look good, feel good and stay healthy - keep in mind that you will have to be focused, work out, and embrace a healthy living lifestyle.

In order to transform your body and make it look more toned, and better, you will have to start thinking about the food you eat. Here are few helpful tips which will help you lose weight, and achieve perfect nutrition balance while joining a fitness boot camp.

1. Start buying (and eating) natural, organic food - fruit and vegetables should come first

Say goodbye to processed food, canned groceries and sweets and sugar coated food. They are not healthy and add weight instantly. Instead, go to the aisle with fruit and vegetables and find groceries you like in this department. Those natural groceries are low fat, and are excellent for people who are on a diet, or in full training. Also, eggs, dairy products, meet and protein rich food must be on your shopping list, because they are easy to digest and will provide you with much needed energy. If you are in a training process in a fitness boot camp, you need to eat healthy food, which will keep you feeling full but still help you lose weight and avoid unwanted calories.

2. Healthy fats - learn about them, start buying food rich in healthy fats and enjoy tasty, healthy products

Fat free food is indeed main part of a good diet. But, keep in mind that fat is the essential part of our body, which means we can't fully stop consuming them. There are healthy fats, which are harmful for our health and which need to be included into every healthy diet. Proper diet can and should include around 30% of calories, gained from healthy fats. Your healthy eating choice should include groceries such as: olive oil, avocado, nuts and almonds, fish products (including fish oil), mushrooms etc. If you stop eating fats, you will seriously harm your health and slow the diet and weight loss process you have started with. The best part of every boot camp is the fact that you can talk to a nutritionist or to a doctor, which will give you a helpful advice on how to eat healthy and maintain a good diet.

3. Food rich in fibres is very healthy and will help you restore your energy

If you decide to join fitness boot camp, that means you are determined to start a serious workout program. That also means you need to eat healthy in order to become fit and have enough strength for your fitness exercise. Fiber rich groceries are an absolute must, if you are undergoing a heavy exercise regime, because they will provide energy and strength to your body and muscles. Here is a list of groceries you should consume while working out: beans and black beans too, asparagus, peach, pineapple and other fruits and vegetables which are excellent for digestion and energy.

4. Eat five smaller meals on daily basis

If you are determined to lose weight, stay healthy and feel better while working out in a fitness boot camp, your food portions need to be adjusted to your new "fit" lifestyle. No more large portions, no more late night snacks and no more over eating. You should have 5 lighter meals, during the day. Three regular ones, and two small snacks (fruit plates are the best solution). Never eat right before training, because you might get sick. At least one hour should pass between your last meal and your workout.

Finally, if you are a member of a fitness boot camp, ask your trainer to help you create a good healthy eating plan, and STICK to it. It will help give amazing results!

Healthy Breakfast Ideas For Fast Fat Loss

Hey   friend ! I hope today finds you well. Let's take a moment to  discuss  something I get asked a lot about and that is what exactly is a healthy breakfast?  Eating  healthy breakfasts is very important, most of us have heard our entire lives that breakfast is the most  important  meal of the day, right? Do we really know what healthy breakfast foods are? Here is a shocking story for you. In a survey done in 2010, 90 % of Americans said their diet was unhealthy, YOWSA! Does this  sound like  a healthy breakfast to you? On the day of the poll 42 % had fruit juice or a fruit drink ,37 % had cold cereal ,29 % had whole wheat bread, toast, or muffin and 18 % had eggs.

The importance of a healthy breakfast is this, it's going to set the tone for the day. If you get yourself in a quick healthy breakfast in the morning you will be more excited likely to  make better  decisions on food for the rest of the day. The other end of the spectrum is that if you eat an unhealthy breakfast in the morning containing stimulants, sugars, and flour it's going to set you up for failure the rest of the day because if you are anything like me your mindset will be "well I  already  ate a crappy breakfast." Does that sound familiar? Well it did to me too.

Let's  talk about  the  four  above  mentioned  food items for a healthy breakfast. We had fruit juice, cold cereal. wheat toast, and eggs. Let's  find  a way for you to have a quick healthy breakfast containing actual health foods not the pseudo health foods. I am going to make this as  painless  as possible, because when I was transitioning to eating more healthy breakfast foods that is what I  wanted .

Fruit  juice  or fruit  drinks  tend to me  packed  full of sugars, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners and higher in calories from all the sugar. Starting your day of with processed drinks like this full of additives are going to leave you craving the same foods all day long. The acidic nature of these will cause you to crave more acidic items. Try  substituting  the bottled juices for freshly juiced vegetable juice, not the stuff in a can either! Some other great ideas are unsweetened almond milk, distilled water, a  healthy  low sugar smoothies, or a healthy supplement.

Cold cereal tends to  fall into  the category of sugar filled or highly processed "health foods" as a lot of them are very well marketed at that. I would recommend to you Ezekiel sprouted grain cereals. I have personally had their cinnamon raising, almond, and regular cereals and I prefer them with almond milk. You can have them cold or even heat them up! This is a great example of healthy breakfast food. The sprouted grains unlock more of the ingredients nutrients and makes them easily absorbed setting yourself up for a great  start  to the day and a clear mind instead of those donuts and coffee on the way to work!

Whole wheat  products  need to be watched and  limited  as well. Ezekiel makes an  AWESOME  set of breads perfect for toast in the morning. I  prefer  the cinnamon raisen with some almond butter and agave nectar and a dash of cinnamon. They also have some awesome english muffins. You are usually able to find these are more recognizable  grocery store  chains or even your local "health food" stores.

Eggs, well let's just  say  that even though there is constant debate going on over whether or not eggs are good or bad if we should eat the white, the yolk or just the whole thing. I have found it best for me to limit eggs as much as possible as they contain an extremely high amount of toxins. These toxins get  absorbed  into the body and can send our blood cells into a state of panic after being infiltrated by such massive amounts of toxins. Do yourself the favor and limit eggs as much as possible. You will be pleasantly surprised at how good you feel.

So I hope that  gives you  an idea of a way to get started with a quick healthy breakfast. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day, so make sure to take some of those healthy breakfast foods  suggestions . Now you should have a better understand of what a healthy breakfast is. I am going to issue you a challenge to start  tomorrow  with a healthy breakfast!

Healthy Eating Habits For Women

There is little doubt that when a woman eats a healthy diet, she has more energy, is in a better mood, and keeps a healthy weight. And, she looks better, too! Eating well can be really help you to get through challenging times in your life. Foods that are healthy can fight stress, increase fertility, cut down on PMS and make getting through menopause easier.

First of all, good nutrition is based on the essentials. You should get a balanced diet that consists of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, good fats and lean meat and dairy sources of protein. If you eat foods like these, you will have a lot of energy, keep your weight down and will feel great! Follow these tips below:

Try to eat foods that are based upon plants. You should try to fill up at meal times with a lot of fruit and green vegetables, especially leafy ones. You should try to eat a lot of whole grains, legumes and beans so that you get a lot of fiber and bulk to keep you full all day long. Try to eat as little processed foods as you can. Keep it as natural as you possibly can!

Consume a lot of calcium. Women always have a higher risk of getting osteoporosis than men do. You should be sure that you are eating a lot of foods with calcium. Dairy products do have a lot of calcium, but their fat and protein can actually cause you to lose bone mass. So, you should think about getting calcium from plants when possible. Good sources are broccoli, kale, beans and collard greens.

Do not consume more protein than you need. Protein is important, but eating too much protein from animal sources can actually increase bone loss. This can cause you to lose density in your bones and can lead to osteoporosis.

Eat foods with a lot of iron. A lot of women do not eat enough iron-rich foods. Also, women lose iron during menstruation, so you should try to eat a lot of foods with iron. Go for red meat, spinach, almonds and cereals that have iron.

Reduce consumption of caffeine and alcohol. If you drink more than two alcoholic drinks each day, you have a much higher risk of developing bone loss. Caffeine will interfere with your hormones and also can increase the loss of calcium. In general, try to not drink more than a glass of wine per day and one cup of coffee per day.

Eat your breakfast. You should rev up your metabolism every day by eating a good breakfast. Studies indicate that if you eat breakfast, you tend to have fewer weight problems.

Eat regularly throughout the day. If you do not eat for many hours, you will get tired and more irritable faster. You should try to eat every four hours or so, at most. You can help to keep your body's natural energy cycle in tune by eating a good breakfast, a healthy lunch, a snack at 2 pm or so, and a light dinner before 7 pm.

Cut out junk food. One of the major reasons for weight gain is that people simply eat too many snacks with little nutritional value and a lot of calories. You should cut out sugary foods and simple carbs, such as cookies, crackers and pretzels. These cause your energy levels to spike and plunge. If you cut them out, you will notice that your energy levels will stay level throughout the day.

By following these simple tips on eating, women are sure to stay healthy and lean.

The Best Lunch Ideas

Jaromto Twinds

Children love snacks and junk food, but they often become choosy when it comes to eating healthy dishes. It is quite clear that unhealthy eating habits may lead to health problems, thus they must be broken immediately. If you want to eliminate the consumption of junk food, you need to change the existing diet and make healthy food easily available to the child. Try to reduce the access to unhealthy food and include nutritious snacks in the child's everyday menu. In other words you need to train your child to eat nutritious products.

Eliminating unhealthy eating habits and shifting to a healthy diet may be difficult. thus you must be patient and gradually move to your goal. Remember that children take all their habits from parents and food consumption is not an exception. For example, if you regularly consume hamburgers or chips, your child will never understand why is he/she is offered salad or stewed fish. Thus, the first thing you need to do is change your own eating habits, and become a good example for your child.

Even if you eliminate all junk food from the daily menu of your child, it may be difficult to make him/her love fruits, vegetables and other healthy products. To achieve your goal you need to use your creativity.

To find interesting lunch ideas, you may do a little online research. By surfing the web, you will find lots of websites offering free, simple and nutritious recipes, as well as recommendations on how to make your child love the new diet.

Below you will find a few ideal that you may use to train your child to a healthy diet.

Fruits

Before you offer fruits to your kid, it is necessary to properly peel and slice them. Start which fruits that your child seems to like and gradually add those your kid has never tried. Even the choosiest child will eat everything you offer if you prepare creative and appealing dish. If all your attempts are in vain, and the child rejects to chew fruits - make a juice.

Milk Shakes and Smoothies

These sweet drinks are well known among kids. They are tasty and nutritious and can be prepared within seconds. Blend together low-fat milk, yogurt and your kid's favorite fruits and the delicious and healthy beverage is ready. By involving the child in the cooking process you will achieve better results.

Vegetables

Vegetables are an inseparable component of healthy diet. If you have a little plot near your house, plant some vegetables. Children eat vegetables with greater inspiration if they grow themselves.

Replace Chips

If your child likes eating potato chips - replace them with healthier substitutes. Offer your child dried fruits. Recipes of fruit chips are easily available on the Internet.

Be patient, use your imagination, do decent research and you will find suitable methods that will make your child eat healthy food. If possible, cooperate with your kid's friends and their moms. This can give quicker results. Never give up and go directly to your aim.

Top 5 Fat Burning Foods You Must Eat To Lose Weight

This article will tell you about the top 5 fat burning foods known to man, so that you can add them into your diet, be healthier and lose weight easier.

 Spinach Packs a Punch

There is a reason that Popeye ate spinach all the time.  Spinach is the first fat burning food I'm recommending in this article.  It is rich in  vitamins C and E, iron and beta carotene.  There are also the added health benefits of protecting you against heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, and colon cancer.  Not bad for the first fat burning foods

 An Apple a Day

Apples certainly pack a powerful nutritious punch.  Again not only do they help you burn fat, they provide many ancillary health benefits including providing fiber and lowering your cholesterol; they are low in sodium, and they will help lower your blood pressure.  Eating apples as a regular part of your diet will give you all of this and allow you to increase your metabolism and burn fat!

No Need to Dread Whole Grain Bread

Another great fat burning food is whole grain bread. Bread often gets a bad rap when it comes to weight loss, because some types of bread make weight loss difficult.  However, when it comes to fat burning food you are missing out on a great source if you ignore breads that are high fiber and dark, like pumpernickel.  Whole grain bread is a natural provider of complex carbohydrates and fiber.  Since the average slice of whole wheat bread has only 65 calories, that should deter you from including it in your diet. It will speed up your metabolism and help you burn fat.  It is also a great provider of protein.

Grapefruit is Power Packed Fat Burner

This has been a major part of many diets because there is a reason for this.  Not only does grapefruit provide you with a great source of vitamin C and potassium, they are a delicious fat free treat that also has no sodium.

When you eat grapefruit as a regular part of your diet, you will receive many great health benefits.  You will lower your cholesterol, and lessen the hardening of the arteries.  Eating grapefruit will also help your body fight off heart disease.  There are really no negatives to eating grapefruit as it is a powerful fat burning food. A breakfast with grapefruit in it will provide you with energy and health benefits all day.

 Rice is Nice

Rice is a staple crop in most countries in the world, including China and India.  I mean over a billion Chinese can't be wrong!  One cup of rice, cooked, contains about 175 calories which is less than equal portions of many other foods including cheese or beef.  Whole grain rice is much better than white rice.  Rice gives you fast and instant energy, helps to stabilize blood sugar and provides essential vitamin B1 to your body.  You will also find that eating rice will help build your body's resistance to dysentery, heart disease and high blood pressure.  Some even believe it will help keep your skin healthy as well!

When it comes to foods that help you burn fat, you can't go wrong with my top five recommendations.  It is always important to eat a balanced diet, get plenty of exercise and allow yourself enough rest so that your body can recover.

7 Fat Burning Foods That Helped Me Lose 5 Pounds

Let me share a short story with you, I have lost 5 pounds of stubborn body fat by just eating these 7 foods that have always been lying around in the fridge. I never took notice of them and never in the world would have guessed that they can help be get in shape.

If I had known earlier, I would have lost more body fat and probably be parading on the beach topless by now. But never mind that, it will soon come. You now have the excess to the information on how I loss 5 pounds by just consuming these 7 foods. They are not magical foods or foods that contains dangerous chemicals that enhances the body. These foods merely complement the weight loss program and get the body into a fat burning mode.

Here are the foods that I have been secretly cooking in the kitchen while my friends in the gym scratch their head trying to find out what fat burners that I am taking!

Fat Burning Food 1: Eggs

Yeah, you have heard of this before. You probably heard of eggs being the king of foods since the days of Arnold. Unfortunately, eggs have been getting a bad reputation lately for containing high cholesterol levels. You don't have to eat like 10 whole eggs a day! Just eat one egg yolk and eat as many egg whites as you can. The egg yolk is the one that has all the cholesterol. The eggs whites are pure protein. One egg white has 3 grams of protein and zero fat and cholesterol.

So, for breakfast, fix yourself a one-egg yolk and 3 egg whites. You can make it hard boil, fry it or steam it. It does not matter that much.

Fat Burning Food 2: Oatmeal

That food up there in the title is the food for champs. Yes, oatmeal is a must for any dieter's menu. It has many goodies and makes you energetic. It is high in fiber, high in vitamins and minerals. It is also low in fat and helps fill your stomach faster.

But not oatmeal is really good for weight loss. If you see some fancy oatmeal that is flavored and instant, don't buy them. Get the ones that are at the bottom of the shelves. Get the ones that are called rolled oats. They are hard, does not taste so good and natural.

For today's breakfast, eat your oatmeal along with your eggs. Cook your oatmeal in water or some low fat milk. Take about 5 tablespoons of rolled oats. Together with the eggs, you should be filled till lunchtime!

Fat Burning Food 3: Milk

Good old milk. Mums really know what is best. Milk can help you in your weight loss efforts. There was an article published by the Obesity Research and according to them, females that consumed low fat dairy foods like low fat milk at least three to four time daily burn 70 percent more body fat compared to low dairy eaters.

There is another interesting study conducted by Purdue University and their study shows that people that take 3 cups of fat-free milk put on less body fat over the course of 2 years compared to those on low calcium diets.

These two reports alone can convince you enough to add some dairy into your daily menu.

So, for your snack today, take a cup of low fat cottage cheese or a cup of yogurt. Take this probably 2 hours before lunch. You don't want to go for lunch with a hungry stomach.

There is more! Now you need to find out about fat burning food 4 for your lunch.

Fat Burning Food 4

How do a steak, some broccoli stir-fried with mushrooms, an apple and a cup of no sugar coffee sound? I know, it does not sound as exciting as a cheese burger and an up grade of a serving of fries and large Coke but you know what, you are on a diet and a mission to get lean! No complains now.

Anyways, I find that having a large steak as a treat. Having steak is a good choice because it has a good amount of protein. Beef is red meat and contains loads vitamin B-12, iron and creatine. Just keep to portion small, about a size of your palm. Bodybuilders in their contest preparation stage really takes their body fat levels super low and they still eat red meat till that day of competition. This tells us something about beef and weight loss doesn't?

Mushrooms and broccoli are great complement to the main meal. These foods are slow release in energy and can sustain your energy levels for a longer time before you feel hungry again.

Apples contains chemicals called pectin and it helps the body to slow down the absorption of foods including fat plus they promote the water absorption from food which aids in the releasing fat deposits from the body.

Coffee is a natural energy booster and it jacks up your body metabolism.

5 Healthy Foods Packed with potassium

Supply your body with the right foods containing potassium for your health and well being.
When it comes to health care tips- Why, you may ask, do we need a good dose of potassium? As well as reducing hypertension, potassium also helps with bone growth and muscle cramping so follow these health tips. Including potassium in your diets is a great heath tip for all with fragile bones. My greatest health tips are to check out these five foods:

As health tips go, one cup of white beans; mature seed canned beans contains 1189 mg of potassium, in news health tips that’s 34 percent daily value!

Forget a banana, which we know in news health tips is great for potassium; instead grab an avocado next time the muscles start to ache. One cup of avocados accounts for 33 percent daily value. Hooray for health tips and guacamole!

Health care tips for your skin and well being include the Date. The little fruit is packed with potassium; in news health tips -28 percent daily value in one cup. If you cant stomach dates alone, then use my health tip and consume some energy bars which are made with dried dates too.

One large baked potato contains 1600 mg of potassium and in news health tips that’s nearly half the daily value of the mineral at 46 percent! News health tips may tell you to avoid this carb but for a better option, use my health tip and top your baked potato with Greek yogurt to save some calories.

Lastly, a great health tip is a cup of seedless raisins has 1236 mg (35 percent daily value). Mix your raisins with nuts for a satisfying, well-rounded snack. Health tips for including potassium are now made easier with these five foods. My health care tips will improve your skin and body as well as giving you a better overall diet.

What To Eat In The Morning

What to eat in the morning
You're on a diet and you're planning your meals. What's the first and most important meal of the day. That's right, breakfast!
How do you feel when you wake up? Do you get up jump into your clothes and ride your bike to work with a big smile on your face? If so, you are in the minority there.

Me
I think I'm more of the norm as far as how people feel in the morning when they wake up. I either feel very tired still or, unfortunately, a little on the grumpy side.

Turn that frown upside down
To get yourself going and improve your disposition in the morning one of the best things you can do is eat the right foods. Do you know what to eat in the morning? Read on and I will tell you what to eat in the morning.

Morning Coffee
What is the drink of champions for all of us non-morning people. Something to get us going, like coffee right? Wrong. Coffee will pep you up and get you going, but before long you'll crash from that caffeine and most likely, sugar high and you'll have to keep drinking to keep it up. You're not going to get to you're ideal weight drinking cup after cup of coffee and that's no way to keep yourself going. Instead have a drink of water. It'll get your metabolism going and fill you up a little so you don't require as much food.
What to eat in the morning
So, back to that ideal breakfeast. How many people have time to prepare a totally healthy breakfast in the morning between getting the kids ready for school and everything else you have to do to get to work. The answer is everyone. Why? because a great healthy breakfast that will get you going in the morning is a bowl of fruit. Actually, there's some work involved beforehand. You could prepare a big bowl of fruit salad the night before. Then, all that's involved is getting a spoon and bowl from the cupboard to get a serving of the healthy breakfast you need.

Keeps you going
Just like my example of coffee giving you a short supply of energy. Those sugary foods will do the same. I'm pretty sure we all know that donuts are not healthy for us. They're sugar, lard and bread. Tastes great, will jump start you, but they're full of calories, fat, and you'll crash quickly from the sugar high. Whereas, if you eat a bowl of fruit, you'll get that natural sweetness from natural sugar and the body will use that over a longer period of time instead in contrast to the short burst from the sugar in donuts or that box of sugar pops cereal.

If you didn't fix that bowl of fruit the night before, pour yourself a nice refreshing glass of orange juice or fruit juice.

What to eat in the morning, protein If you can find time you will definitely want to add protein rich foods to your diet. This will also jump start your metabolism and get you going. Eggs(egg whites if you're worried about your cholesterol), canadian bacon, peanut butter, whole wheat toast, and dairy products are all great sources of protein.

Do you have a better idea of what to eat in the morning?

If you are wondering here are some of the benefits of fruits, other than getting your motor going in the morning. You may be interested and surprised to hear the benefits of eating a bowl of fruit.

Stroke
If you are at a high risk for stroke, fruits might decrease that risk. By adding fruits to your breakfast you will be reducing your chance of developing cardiovascular issues.

Type 2 Diabetes
If your doctor has told you that you are in danger of suffering from type 2 diabetes or you think that you should be concerned about type 2 diabetes, you should add fruits to your diet. By adding fruits you have found one way to reduce your risk.

Cancer
Eating fruits will help you to reduce the chance that you will get some types of cancer. If I wanted to know what to eat in the morning I would pay attention to this.

Fiber
Fruits are good foods to include in your diet to get fiber. What will fiber do for your health. If you are taking in proper amounts of fiber you are decreasing the chance you will suffer from coronary heart disease.

Kids love fruit
If your kids love sweets, fruits are a good substitute for those cereals that are loaded with sugar. Fruits have natural sugar that is much better for them than the processed sugar in those cereals.

More Common Sense
Do you now know what to eat in the morning. If you add fruits into your diet you will be making a great decision. You will be improving your chances of achieving a healthy body and you will also most likely be reducing your calorie intake, which is a good step in the weight loss process.
Now you know what to eat in the morning and you can take another step in journey for healthy weight loss dietsand a healthy lean body.

Healthy Breakfast Meals: Foods To Take You From Wicked Weekdays To Slow Sundays

If you have ever watched your children inhale a bowl full of sugar laden cereal or worse, cram a grubby mitt into the box and then snort if all down dry, you might wonder what you can do to improve their morning meals. After all, all of the experts have finally found one thing to agree on. Having healthy breakfast meals is the key to a better and healthier day for the entire family. Yes, that means you too, Mom and Dad. We see you hiding behind that newspaper, scarfing down that nasty toaster deal! And, we all know that you are the first ones into the break room, drooling, Homer Simpson like over a box of donuts. You wouldn’t need to eat those sugary, fat laden snacks at all if you were eating healthier foods.

The key to healthy breakfast meals is a little planning and a little preparation. If you wait until zero hour, the bus is coming, the kids are dressed and you are on a search and destroy mission for your left shoe, any left shoe, then breakfast of any kind is going to slip down the totem pole. There have been chaotic mornings that you have actually turned a blind eye from your child lapping at the dog’s water because it has just been that bad. Okay, stop and take a nice deep breath in. Relax. Junior won’t die from a face full of Rover’s germs. You will find a shoe, eventually. You don’t have to get up at dark o’clock to get good food on the table or for everyone to have the time to eat it. Healthy breakfast meals can be simple, no cook and best of all, can be prepped the night before.

One of the easiest, healthy breakfast meals to get in front of your family is cereal. If you can get them to eat healthy oatmeal, then all the better, but that won’t always fly. If they absolutely insist on the loopy, sugar frosted, maniac bombs, then use this trick to satisfy their insane sweet tooth and your need to give them healthy foods. Mix their cereal choice and your’s at a two to one ratio. They still get enough sugar to have them bouncing in their seats at school, but they still get vitamins and fiber. Insist on milk-whether they splash it on the cereal or they just drink it along side. Not all kids will eat their cereal bobbing in milk.

Don’t overlook some of the other interesting healthy breakfast meals. You know how you loved cold pizza as a teen? Before you growl at your own teen for that, remember, if you chose a healthier pizza option to begin with, a slice in the morning is a perfectly acceptable choice. Hand them a glass of milk or fruit juice and keep in mind that at least they have eaten something and that is the key.

Yoga Poses For Weight Loss

Mental attitude has an enormous part as a role played in weight loss. If you want to succeed in the goals you have for yourself, it's important to keep a positive mental attitude.

One of the best ways to keep a positive attitude while trying to lose weight is practicing yoga. Doing yoga poses are highly beneficial, not only to your mental state, but to your body as well. Not only is yoga well known for being a stress relieving way to exercise, but it is proven to burn stubborn stomach fat and tone up skin all over as well. One of the best things about yoga is that you and you alone are in control of exploring poses and discovering what benefits your body best.

An example of one of the greatest yoga poses for weight loss would have to be a pose called "the Willow". During this pose, one would stand with their feet together, and their arms flat against their sides. The sole of the left foot is then placed against the inside of the right leg. Palms are then touched together against the chest to relax the body and mind. After inhaling three times, you would extend your arms up, with fingertips toward the ceiling. Breathing steadily, bend towards the left. This yoga pose would be repeated until you wish to continue to a new pose.

If this overwhelms you at first, this is understandable. Just remember, everyone starts at their own level! Some yoga poses are as simple as lying on your back and bringing one knee up towards your chest slowly. In this pose, one would simply wrap their hands around the knee, and proceed to repeat now using the other leg.

If you want more of a challenge while practicing yoga, a great way to challenge yourself is by closing your eyes. An important thing to remember though is to avoid straining, especially if you are a beginner to yoga. In all forms of exercise, it is easy to injure yourself if you are pushing your body too hard. That being said, one of the wonderful things about yoga is that it can be practiced by people of all fitness levels. Anyone can take as much time as they need to learn the sequences of yoga poses before moving on.

Even though using yoga for weight loss seems to be only recently on the rise, it is a fact that has been around a long time that yoga is very effective in weight loss. While combining the power of positivity with yoga poses for weight loss, your goals are sure to be achieved.

Are You Active? Here Are The Best Athletic Diets

What is the best diet plan for active people? That depends on what the definition of the word "active" actually is. Active means different things to different people with some people convinced that they do more than they really do. In fact, Americans tend to overestimate how much they move around by as much as thirty percent based on several different studies. In one, women were asked to estimate how many steps they take in their daily lives based on their normal routines. After filling out a survey about activity level, exercise and more, the women were fitted with both a heart rate monitor and a pedometer and asked to complete their daily routine. The results shocked most of them. They simply did not move nearly as much as they had thought.

The more active that you are, the more calories you will burn. That is a simple equation but it can still cause some confusion. Just because you are more active than you were before you cannot start eating more. For some people the beginning of an exercise program might actually cause weight gain simply because their increased metabolism will make them hungrier and they will eat more in response. So, the right diet plan is one that will allow you to have enough energy to get your exercise without gaining weight. If you are also trying to lose weight, your plan should allow you the flexibility to make those adjustments as well.

Many people are very happy with the Paleo diet which is also referred to as the caveman diet. In this diet plan you focus on lean protein sources, fresh fruits and vegetables and very few grains. Wheat, one of the most commonly consumed of the modern grains is a no-no on this diet plan as is dairy. Some people find it too restrictive, however and others have complained that some of the foods listed on the plan are either hard to find or too expensive to bother with.

A good diet should include protein, carbohydrates and healthy fat sources at the right calorie count for your personal needs. Super high protein diets, like the Atkins diet can be dangerous to long term health by increasing cholesterol levels and increasing the risk of heart disease. Those diets are also hard to stick to because they eliminate entire food groups that are actually needed. Remember, a diet is only effective if you can stick with it and make it for the long haul.
